Job Description
Duties:
- Ensuring adequate stock on hand for a variety of fresh and frozen products including all details such as specs and delivery arrangements.
- Preparing purchase orders and related documents.
- Follow up on a variety of purchasing related tasks.
- Meet or exceed expectations laid out in the purchasing scorecard such as fill rates, inventory caps and long & slow inventory.
- Sourcing of new products to keep customers competitive and current on market trends.
- Initiate and maintain healthy internal and external customer and vendor relations
- Communicating all relevant information to other departments.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years purchasing experience in a food services environment
- Good knowledge of purchasing food commodities
- Strong computer systems skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
- Able to work independently, and demonstrate problem solving, innovation and customer service skills.
- Seafood knowledge and experience is a definite asset
