Job Description

Duties:

  • Ensuring adequate stock on hand for a variety of fresh and frozen products including all details such as specs and delivery arrangements.
  • Preparing purchase orders and related documents.
  • Follow up on a variety of purchasing related tasks.
  • Meet or exceed expectations laid out in the purchasing scorecard such as fill rates, inventory caps and long & slow inventory.
  • Sourcing of new products to keep customers competitive and current on market trends.
  • Initiate and maintain healthy internal and external customer and vendor relations
  • Communicating all relevant information to other departments.

 Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years purchasing experience in a food services environment
  • Good knowledge of purchasing food commodities
  • Strong computer systems skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Able to work independently, and demonstrate problem solving, innovation and customer service skills.
  • Seafood knowledge and experience is a definite asset
